Matt Faul - 2JZ Swap 944 rwhp 1990 Ford Probe
This is no ordinary 1990 Ford Probe. Matts car started life as a stock 2.2 liter turbo Probe GT, and after running in car audio competitions for a few years, Matt got the itch for more hp. After making modest tweaks to the oem engine/turbo combo, Matt finally had enough and swapped in a 2.0 liter 16v FE3 engine. In FWD configuration the car made 402 rwhp and ran an 11.25 @ 128 mph. After that, it was time to get serious in both the HP and chassis department. Matt backhalfed the car using a 4-link rear suspension with a Ford 9", a Powerglide, and a well built 2JZGE engine. The engine uses a stock crank, GRP alum rods, stock head with BC valve springs and HKS 272 cams. A Boostwerx intake manifold and fuel rail direct the air flow in, and a Janz Performance header and S480 turbo round out the exhaust side. The car made 944 rwhp on a dynojet dyno and has ran a 8.24 @ 170 mph in the quarter mile.
